  • 4.1.1 Legal Entity

    The laboratory operates under the legal entity:

    4.1.2 Management Responsibility

    The General Manager and Quality Manager are responsible for ensuring that the laboratory operates in full compliance with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025. They are accountable for the quality of the work performed and the integrity of the laboratory’s operations.

    4.1.3 Scope of the Quality System

    The policies and procedures defined in this quality manual apply to all work conducted within the laboratory, including on-site (in-situ) calibrations and testing. These procedures ensure consistency, reliability, and compliance with relevant regulatory and accreditation standards.

    4.1.4 Corporate Oversight and Conflict of Interest

    The parent organization of the laboratory has formally defined the roles and responsibilities of key personnel. These assignments are structured to identify and mitigate potential conflicts of interest, ensuring impartiality and the integrity of testing activities.

    4.1.5 Responsibilities, Integrity, and Confidentiality

    The General Manager, Technical Manager, and Quality Manager share responsibility for:

    • Implementing and maintaining the quality management system

    • Identifying deviations from quality or technical procedures

    • Initiating corrective and preventive actions when required

    Measures are in place to ensure that all laboratory personnel are free from commercial, financial, or internal pressures that could compromise the integrity or objectivity of their work.

    Confidentiality is protected through formal confidentiality policies and procedures covering:

    • Client data and intellectual property

    • Electronic storage and secure transmission of test/calibration results

    • Access controls and internal handling of proprietary information

    The laboratory also follows documented procedures to prevent any actions that might impair its competence, impartiality, or operational integrity.

    4.1.6 Organizational Structure and Communication

    The laboratory’s organizational structure, including reporting relationships and links to the parent organization, is illustrated in the organizational chart. This chart identifies:

    • Key management positions and deputies

    • Staff reporting lines

    • Roles and responsibilities across the laboratory

    Each role’s responsibilities and authority are defined in individual job descriptions. These documents describe how roles interrelate and support the management system.

    • The Technical Manager is responsible for overseeing all technical operations and supervising testing (and calibration) personnel.

    • The Quality Manager—as designated on the organizational chart—has unrestricted access to both the General Manager and the Technical Manager, regardless of other responsibilities.

    • Deputies for all key roles are clearly designated in the organizational chart.

    Management ensures that all personnel understand the importance of their duties in achieving the laboratory’s quality and technical objectives. Communication of these goals and the effectiveness of the management system is actively promoted throughout the organization.
